Northamptonshire Steelbacks v Notts Outlaws
Outlaws 207 (Read 45, Patel 44)
Steelbacks 208-6 (Younis Khan 3-31)
Northamptonshire Steelbacks won by four wickets
The all-rounder is focusing on helping us win our last three games of
the season and believes this will still be enough to move clear of the
drop zone.
He said: ?Winning the last three games will put us on 30 points and that will put us there or thereabouts with a few others.
?We have to concentrate on winning those three and not worry about what other teams are doing.?
Despite a fighting effort from Patel, Younis Khan and Chris Read with
the bat, our total of 207 was not enough to hold off the Steelbacks run
chase.
The 19-year-old was also in good form with the ball but the hosts recovered from a mid-innings wobble to win.
Patel added: ?The wicket was pretty difficult to bat on and after
losing three wickets in the first 10 overs, Younis Khan and I had to
consolidate and tighten up our shots.
?The innings never really got going but we stuck in there with the ball
and Graeme Swann, Younis Khan and I did a good job to take the pace off
and mixed it up.
?It wasn?t quite enough but we?re still confident we can do the job and
with some good support against Gloucestershire next week, we can get
the first of those three wins.?
