Nottinghamshire CCC have joined forces with the England & Wales Cricket Board to organise to show live action on a giant screen at Wollaton Park next Saturday and Sunday.

Similar ECB ?Cricket in the Park in association with Fosters? initiatives have taken place this summer in London, Birmingham and Bristol and have attracted more than 40,000 fans in total.

But Lisa Pursehouse, Notts Deputy Chief Executive, believes that next weekend?s attendance could be the highest yet.

She said: ?We?ve had literally hundreds of calls from people who are disappointed about not getting a ticket, wanting to know whether there will be a big screen showing.

?Even those who are coming to Trent Bridge on Thursday or Friday are looking for another taste of the action over the weekend and Wollaton Park is the perfect place to go and lap up the atmosphere.

?In fact, I couldn?t think of a better venue for an event of this kind and if I wasn?t going to be busy at Trent Bridge, I would certainly be on the hill at Wollaton Park.

?The ECB deserve credit because they were quick to respond when the public suggested something should be done to ?accommodate? all those people who want to come to the game but cannot get a ticket.?

Admission to Wollaton Park will be free and although final plans are still being made, it is expected that the ECB Cricket Roadshow will be there, offering an opportunity to face 90 mph bowling.

There will be food and drink outlets, with beer and soft drinks provided by event sponsors Fosters, but people will be able to take their own food and drink.

Said Tom Harrison, the ECB Marketing Manager: ?Cricket in the Park has been a major part of the success of our England?s Big Summer campaign. We know that with the series level at 1-1, there is enormous interest in Nottingham in the events at Trent Bridge.

?The screen at Wollaton Park will give those fans who do not have a ticket for the match the chance to join in and experience the unprecedented excitement of this npower Ashes series.?

There will be no tickets required to get in and Lisa added: ?It?s very much a case of the more the merrier.?
