David Hussey had plenty of reasons to celebrate after becoming the first man in the country to pass 1,000 Championship runs for the season.
Hussey's unbeaten 114 in the first innings against Gloucestershire pushed the Australian past the landmark, although former England opener Marcus Trescothick beat Hussey to 1,000 first-class runs by a matter of hours.
It was Hussey's third hundred of the summer and helped Notts reach 271-4 at the close of play, and proved the perfect early present for his 30th birthday tomorrow.
