Graeme Swann is targeting a regular spot in England’s one-day team after being recalled to tour Sri Lanka in October.
The 28-year-old was today named in a 15-man squad to play five One-day Internationals in Sri Lanka, seven years after his one and only appearance for England against South Africa.
The off-spinning all-rounder believes he’s playing some of the best cricket of his career and said: “Sometimes things work out for you and I’m delighted to have got the call.
“At the start of the season I made it a real goal to get back in the international set-up but I’m not finished yet by any means.
“I’m in the squad but the next aim must be to earn selection in the starting XI. I feel confident about my game and have certainly grown as a cricketer since the tour of South Africa in 2000.”
Swann will be joined on the tour by his Notts team-mate Ryan Sidebottom, who was forced out of the ICC World Twenty20 because of a nagging side-strain injury and is continuing his return to fitness at the moment.
