Adam Shepherd returned figures of 8-16 to wreck the innings of visitors Marshalls at the Notts Sports Club ground on Saturday,
The visitors were 100-3 when Shepherd came back for his second spell in the 32nd over. He bowled their top scorer, Allen, for 40, and took another wicket four balls later to reduce Marshalls to 100-5. He then took five more wickets in 17 balls including two in consecutive deliveries, with five clean bowled, to finish the innings for 118.
Sam Kelsall took three catches and the other wicket takers were Jake Ball (1-22) and Kevon Cooper (1-28).
The Academy had 58 overs in which to score the required runs but only took 80 mins & 22.5 overs to reach their target. Akhil Patel was brilliantly caught & bowled by Andrews for 43 and Sam Wood was undefeated for the second week running with 38. Ben McGuire finished the game with a six and a four in three balls to give the Academy an eight wicket victory, Notts ending on 122-2.
