That game gets underway on Thursday August 25 and all tickets for the first four days were sold out within 48 hours of going on sale.

All that remained were 7,000 seats for the fifth and final day and England?s barnstorming performance in the third Test at Old Trafford has prompted an unprecedented rush on sales.

Said Notts Deputy Chief Executive Lisa Pursehouse: ?We anticipated a busy day yesterday because of what was happening in Manchester but we?ve never seen the like of it before.

?The phone lines have been ringing non-stop and our staff have done a fantastic job to cope with the demand. We fully expect all tickets will have gone by lunchtime today (TUESDAY).?

There are no guarantees that the game will go into the fifth day but the risk factor is minimal.

Added Lisa: ?Monday is a Bank Holiday so most people won?t have to book a day off work and if the game should finish before the final day, everyone gets a full refund.?

Once the first ball is bowled on the final day, no refunds will be awarded but Lisa said: ?No-one was complaining about a shortened day when England won at Edgbaston and the price of last-day tickets - ?10 for adults and ?5 for concessions - is fantastic value.?

Incidentally, it?s not just England cricket fans who are clamouring for tickets, with one caller over the weekend from Melbourne booking a hospitality suite for the Sunday.
